From the rumours, they’re planning a little competition and need an impartial judge to pick their favourite. And if you dive in this latest release of BlaBlaBla Studios and Microgaming, you might just find that competition between gods is good for your wallet.
Fortunes of Asgard offers a 5×3 reel with 20 fixed paylines. It has medium volatility, with minor payouts being a frequent thing and some bigger scores appearing from time to time. There are several special features to talk about in this slot. At the start of the game, you are asked to choose between Thor or Hellia, which will give you different bonuses and don’t worry, you can change which god you support at any given time. When Thor lands next to his hammer on the reels, he will expand vertically to cover the whole reel and turn Wild. When Hellia lands next to her book, she turns Wild and become sticky for a single turn. There is a point and click game that is activated by collecting three bonus symbols that appear on the first, third and fifth reel, which will take you across galaxies in your quest for loot. On top of that, there is also a standard free spins bonus, allowing you to win from 10 to 25 free spins depending on how many Scatters activate the feature. The big appeal of free spins is that it also activates both Thor and Hellia’s bonuses at the same time, making it quite lucrative.
How to Play Fortunes of Asgard
We have to admit, we’re a bit conflicted on the visuals here. We like the backdrop, and when you go into space and hop across galaxies as part of that point and click bonus, the slot is downright gorgeous. What we’re not so hot about are poker card icons and the fact the two gods look like cartoon characters rather than proper badass gods from a pagan religion. Besides that, however, we’re mighty pleased, though the fact the two main characters look disappointing is somewhat of a downer.
On the gameplay side of things, Fortunes of Asgard is as straight forward as you would expect. The features make it and then everything else is just filler in between. As such, you will see a lot of small wins here and there, but there’s not a lot of impact to them. The developers have done as much as they could have to stop players from getting bored between the features, and the fact Thor can expand and Hellia can become sticky is a big part of that strategy. Kudos for keeping things interesting, Microgaming.

There’s no progressive jackpot in this title. Instead, all the valuables can be found in either the point and click bonus game or with the free spins.
