Hidden deep within the jungles of Brazil, to this day, lie tribes of humans which the outside world has chosen not to contact. This isn’t a phenomenon unique to Brazil, mind you. The reason why these tribes were never contacted was as to not disturb their way of life, growth and evolution – if we brought them into our society, they could not comprehend the massive difference. When it came to contacting these tribes, it was agreed that it was not our place to uplift these people before they were ready to do so on their own, so we simply observe them, just in case something happens and they need our aid. It’s fun to speculate that there may be tribes that we know nothing about – some remnant of the ancient American empires that persisted before Europeans colonized the continents. This is the premise with which RTG is luring us into – and we have to admit, it’s working spectacularly.
The title offers gamblers a 5×3 playing field with 50 flexible paylines, meaning that gamblers can turn them on or off at will, lowering their wager further by lowering their chances of winning prizes. As far as special features go, there’s not too much to talk about. Every win that includes Wild automatically has a 3x multiplier attached to it. Collecting three, four or five Scatters rewards 8, 18 or 88 free spins, with three Scatters granting a 1x multiplier, while four or five Scatters reward a 2x multiplier. The feature can then be retriggered by collecting three or more Scatters, which adds 3 free spins to the mix and increases the multiplier for a maximum of 9x for three Scatter or 10x for four or five Scatters. The bonus can be retriggered up to eight times.
How to Play Secret Jungle
While it’s far from the most gorgeous slot we’ve seen, it’s a good looking title and a major step forward from what RTG have been producing when compared to two years ago. Butterflies fly over the admittedly static backdrop, with only other movement being small, green bubbles that float about in a canopy filled jungle which masks a massive stone door that sits behind the reels, waiting for a brave and handsome explorer to wander over and uncover its secrets. And, of course, be graciously rewarded with all the loot that’s been hiding within. A small detail we quite like is the glowing laser that follows the paylineyou’ve won after a win. While it doesn’t fit thematically, it looks really cool and we hope RTG keeps it around.
But visuals are only part of the picture and the gameplay is a mixed bag for us. First things first, it’s high volatility, so it doesn’t give its wins lightly, but once it does, you know they’re well worth the trouble. What did trouble us, however, was the absence of an RTP. While we can somewhat understand the developers not wanting to test it for every option of activated paylines, they could have at the very least produced a range for barely any activated paylines and when you have all of them activated. We doubt a strong and recognizable name like RTG is out to scam anyone, but regardless, we have to dock points for no RTP information.
Jackpots & Progressives
There’s no progressive jackpots lying anywhere in Secret Jungle, but with its high volatility and potential big pays, you don’t really need them. The title itself limits any wins beyond 50,000 coins and while we doubt anyone will be reaching those numbers, you should be aware that’s where RTG drew their line in the sand. With potentially up to 88 free spins and the option to add three more up to eight times, each time adding a higher multiplier… Sorry, we were drooling and had to clean up.
