Red Dragon Mobile Slot Review

In the land of online slots, oriental themed games with dragons are a dime a dozen, but this did not stop 1×2 Gaming to try its best to break into the market and deliver a product for everyone to enjoy. Available on both iOS and Android mobile devices, Red Dragon takes a risk-free approach with fun gameplay and a few bonuses sprinkled about.

The theme of the game is done in an interesting fashion, even though it might not be to everyone’s tastes. The temple in the background through the transparent reels looks gorgeous, and going into the menus makes it look like you are reading old parchments, which helps immersion quite a bit.

The game has 25 variable paylines set across 5 reels, with a calming music playing in the background. Watch as a mixture of standard icons such as J, Q, K and A are mixed in with more traditional oriental symbols to form the slot icons which will award you many victories as the reels keep spinning.

How to play Red Dragon

The user interface is done well in the most part. It looks cohesive, and everything is clearly visible, which is a huge deal for mobile phones. Usually, developers will either leave out most information in menus, or tend to clutter the interface. But 1×2 Gaming managed to avoid both pitfalls, which brings them points in our book.

That said, there are some annoyances. The upper icons tend to be difficult to touch, and not all information that you want can be found in the paytable. This by itself is not that big of an annoyance, other than the fact that you will be fumbling slightly to turn off music if you are in public.

Red Dragon is a relatively affordable as a slot – a quick tap and you can set your coin value, bet level, and how many active paylines you want up. You can play it for as little as $0.01 up to $125, which should satisfy both casual players and high rollers alike.

Jackpots and Progressives

1×2 Gaming’s newest release is not a progressive slot, and despite the attractive 95.70% RTP, the game may not be as interesting to profit orientated players as some other slots might.

Red Dragon will limit the maximum prize to $10,000, and while you are able to exceed that amount if you are lucky, the slot will simply roll back your additional wins and cap you at $10,000. While we understand why the developers imposed this limit, it can feel bad if you get lucky enough to land a massive win.

So how do you get the largest prizes? You want lots of Wilds, which are the highest paying symbol on the reels, and you will want the free spins bonus active, which will double all your wins while it is active.

Bonus Games and Signups

Scatters in this game are represented by temples. Getting three or more of these on the reels will activate between 10 to 30 free spins, depending on how many Scatters activated the bonus feature. While the free spins are active, all wins are doubled!

Another interesting symbol is the red dragon itself, which acts as a bonus icon. Getting three or more of these symbols will trigger the bonus round in which you are taken to a separate screen. Once there, you are given three lives, and a dragon banner that you need to colour in.

In this bonus round, you can get numbers, a dragon symbol, or a heart icon. A heart icon will make you lose one of your three lives, the dragon will colour part of the banner and give you a cash prize, and getting a number will give you that amount of coins directly.
