Jurassic Giants Mobile Slot Review

Who doesn’t love dinosaurs? Massive, scary and terrifying, they are a hallmark that not so long ago, humans weren’t the top dog on our own planet. Nowadays, the word Jurassic immediately calls back many to think of the movies, but Pragmatic Play decided to add in a bit more than just dinosaurs. Travel back in time in this new 6 reel, 4,096 ways to win slot which pays both ways, to face off against the worst predators of that time period, as well as bagging yourself a sizeable win in the process.

Visually, it is alright, but far from impressive. The music has a very dramatic, active tone to it when you’re spinning the reels, which helps hype you up, but there’s not much going on that you would miss out on by activating the quick spins. While the reel animations are smooth and the symbols are nicely designed and very easy to make out, they don’t do much that would leave us impressed, just following the traditional recipe for the developer.

Scatters come in the shape of jewels, and when you have a massive playing field, you get a bit tough on your players. For one, the free spins are a pain to score, but the reward can be jaw dropping as a result as it scales up. You need at least ten Scatters to activate the basic one that gives you 15 extra turns, but get just five more Scatters, and we’re already up to 40. With twenty Scatters, you can reach the maximum 250 free spins, although we highly doubt anyone will ever actually make that happen. And just to spruce it up even more, each win is multiplied while the bonus is active.

In comparison, Wilds are very lacklustre. They just exist to replace all other icons except for Scatters, but they offer to cash benefit of their own. Beyond that, there isn’t sadly much to talk about.

How to Play Jurassic Giants

The game has potential for big wins, just as much as certain parts of it are there to annoy you. Pragmatic’s release boasts a 96% RTP, but a big portion of that will be small wins. Because you have six reels instead of five, all scores require four of a kind wins except the two biggest paying ones, and to have certain symbols that pay less than your wager for a four of a kind win is frankly insulting. We feel this is a sacrifice made to allow Jurassic Giants to boast about being able to pay both left to right and right to left, but we don’t feel it was worth it to compromise the paytable like that.

Gamblers can wager $0.50 up to $250 per spin, which has been a constant for this developer for some time now. While half a dollar each spin might turn off some players from less financially well off areas, most others should be able to find something that suits them just fine. Just don’t rush too hard with your money, as it pays off to be patient in this slot.

Jackpots & Progressives

There isn’t a progressive jackpot in this game, but that isn’t a bad thing in itself. The title sits comfortably in the medium variance section, but can shoot quite high as you bump up the amount of money you spend. Of course Pragmatic wants gamblers to feel feeding them more money is worth it, but it can annoy low rollers, no doubt.

In our personal preference, if you end up on a losing streak, we suggest taking a break and waiting it out for an hour or two. While it isn’t guaranteed, in our opinion it works at making wins flow again.

Bonus Games & Sign-ups

The free spins are notoriously difficult to trigger. In two hundred and something spins we put into Jurassic Giants, we only saw it two times. Once with a minimum of 15 spins and the other time with 35 extra turns. We can say that it was very lucrative both times, but we could certainly feel the dead spins hitting us after both those wins.
