People usually play board games because they’re a fun time. Some, like Monopoly, try to teach you a lesson, making the rules in such a way that it ensures a snowball effect – once one player starts winning, there’s little others can do to stop them. Jumanji is the NetEnt’s 2018 release offering a 3-4-5-4-3 playing field setup with 36 fixed paylines as a result of the layout. This title is a gold mine of special features. During normal gameplay, you can unlock Sticky Vines, which will capture a certain group of symbols and give you a re-spin, allowing you to expand that icon for a bigger win. Monsoon Wilds will cause the alligators to appear, who will leap up to try and grab you before falling onto one or two reels, covering them with Wilds. Monkey Mayhem will swap around the positions of symbols for a guaranteed win after the reels stop spinning and any wins are paid out. Finally, Wild Stampede can occur to create 4 to 9 random Wilds on the playing field. All of these features are entirely random and occur during normal gameplay with no special symbols activating them. However, there is another feature that is triggered by Scatters, which we’ll get to in a bit.
How to Play Jumanji
Visually speaking, NetEnt has really gone above and beyond to show us their prowess. Even with phones, there are several gorgeous animations playing – each special feature has a fancy animation tied down to it. The sound of drums picking up and slowing down gives it a tribal vibe, like you’re in the midst of a jungle. The team over at NetEnt really did their best to bring the board game to life here, and so, at all times, you can see the playing field of the actual dice game – which is used during the special feature to actually control one of the four idols across the map.
What about gameplay? With the bonuses we’ve already mentioned, there’s a lot that can happen during any particular spin. Just from that alone, you can expect several bonuses to make their appearance at any given time. This is fantastic, but it also means NetEnt balanced around it, which is why despite a 96.33% RTP, the actual volatility is somewhere on the low to medium side of things. It’s very clearly designed as a more beginner-friendly type of title.
